Survey for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities - 2016
Earlier this year, the Youth Connexions learning difficulties and disabilities team surveyed a total of 60 young people who either attend special schools or are attending supported provision at Hertfordshire colleges.
The survey showed that 96.6% of the young people surveyed understood why they were seeing their Youth Connexions personal adviser; 98.3% found their personal adviser either easy or very easy to talk to and 91.6% found the meeting either useful or very useful.
56.7% of the young people surveyed indicated that they would take action as a result of their intervention. This included visiting a college and talking to their parents about plans for the future.
Some of the comments received were:
"I will start to think about what college I want to go to and maybe think about where I would go for work experience.”
“My Youth Connexion adviser is brilliant. She is very good at listening to what we have to say and she’s going to help address our problems.”
“I am going to work hard in maths and work harder in everything to try and get GCSE maths as I need it to get into elderly care.”
