Called Bridges2beats, the project is designed to bring together young people who may feel isolated, or whose circumstances mean they find it difficult to progress. It will give access to music making to those who might otherwise not have the chance to enjoy this activity. Participants in the course will also gain a range of skills such as communication and teamwork, thereby increasing their employability.

Three specific groups of young people will take part: unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees, young people from minority ethnic communities and young people facing economic deprivation.

These young people took part in a project called MultiTrack that took place over the past year

The programme will be delivered in high quality music studios and will be open to participants from Broxbourne, Hertsmere, Dacorum, St. Albans and Welwyn Hatfield.

The project is expected to last for 18 months, and will benefit around 100 young people aged 16 to 21.

Giving these young people a voice through live music events where they showcase music they have created will help them overcome a number of issues they are facing, creating positive outcomes  that stretch far beyond their musical development. “
