50 young people from the Welwyn Hatfield area are taking part in this summer’s National Citizen Service (NCS) programme, with Hertfordshire County Council’s youth service, YC Hertfordshire, learning new skills and making an impact on their local community.

NCS graduate wins a Diana Award for her contribution to raising awareness of mental health and bullying

St Albans National Citizen Service graduate, Amy de Castillo, won a prestigious Diana Award, for her efforts in making a positive change. The 17-year-old completed NCS with Hertfordshire County Council’s youth service, YC Hertfordshire, in Summer 2017.
North Herts and Stevenage Young Parents achieve 100% pass rate in the Plus One programme

Young parents from North Herts and Stevenage celebrated their successful completion of the Plus One programme run by YC Hertfordshire and were all awarded a C&G Level 1 certificate in Employability and Personal Development. This was a huge achievement as this was the first course some had attended since leaving school.
Young Parents from Watford and Three Rivers successfully complete Plus One Programme

Six young people from Watford and Three Rivers successfully completed the Plus One programme which equips them with the life skills needed to help them thrive as young parents. The course was held by YC Hertfordshire at YouthZone in South Oxhey.

Young people launch video to combat hate crime in Hertfordshire

Young people working with YC Hertfordshire, part of Hertfordshire County Council, launched a video at Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, to encourage the reporting of hate crime.
