Youth Connexions received award for DofE success at Buckingham Palace

On 16th May, Jonathan Jack, Youth Connexions Engagement Manager, attended a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Gold Award Presentation at Buckingham Palace. Youth Connexions received a special plaque, acknowledging Hertfordshire County Council’s commitment to running the DofE since 1974.
New youth project in Welwyn Garden City is creating youth stars!

Saturday Drugs Awareness session a big success

Early May saw the delivery of a very successful drugs education workshop by youth workers from the Youth Connexions team in Watford at the Al-Lawh Academy, which provides Islamic Education to young people of Watford and the surrounding areas.
Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council goes from strength to strength

Youth Connexions runs the Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council in partnership with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council. This year 15 enthusiastic young people have joined and are giving up their time every week to help address the issues that affect local young people.
Students in Hertsmere get in the know about staying safe

Youth Connexions has been delivering sessions at Dame Alice Owens School, Potters Bar, exploring how to stay safe when it comes to sex, alcohol and drugs.

‘Eyes Open’ project off to a good start in South Oxhey

A new project for young women run by Youth Connexions in South Oxhey has got off to a great start. Called ‘Eyes Open’, the aim of the project is to enable young people to recognise and develop positive healthy relationships – and, as a result, to ensure that they are less vulnerable to exploitation in the future.
